How to care for your gardenia and stephanotis

Stephanotis Plant

Stephanotis flowers have long been treasured for their beauty and sweet scent. The tropical twining vine, with its dark shiny foliage and snowy flowers, are a traditional element in wedding bouquets and many of us received our first info on the Stephanotis flower from our florist. The stephanotis is easy to care for. It takes a regular fertilizer once every two months through the winter and once every two weeks through the summer. They like to be kept moist and warm. Give it the lightest spot in the house. In the summer it loves to be outside but NOT in the full sun.

Gardenia Plant

Gardenias are generally found outdoors in southern regions and are admired for their glossy green foliage and fragrant blossoms. These beautiful plants are grown as ornamental shrubs in warm regions and as patio plants that are brought indoors in cooler areas. This plant likes to be kept moist too but do not fertilize it too much. Once in the winter months is enough and once every two weeks in the summer time. The fertilizer should be acid based.
